A warm welcome to St Stricktlands School….known to its friends as St Sticks. I’m glad you’re here.
You may be grateful you’re only here to learn more about the school. It’s eighty eight years old when the main story starts, which makes it Year LXXXVIII in school time.
The whole place is run by regular receipt of the rattan on really raw rears.
The school itself is located somewhere in the very rural (and flat) side of eastern England.
I’m asked often how much more of the story is written. The answer is: Quite a lot. I have currently just finished writing the book, with chapter 246. The idea is to publish a new chapter once a month.
If you’d like to receive these, please email shimmershone@hotmail.co.uk. This signs you up to it, together with a monthly newsletter…..and nothing else.
You may also subscribe the this blog as I will publish here each new chapter.
However, writing is one thing, but it takes another age to proofread, remove the inconsistencies, plus spell-check and punctuation. Reading a chapter a year or so after writing is a humbling experience since you then spot some of the errors, bad grammar, repetition, and so on. Please be charitable, and patient.
With all my best swishes, Dave
